ALMYTTER'S INDIA

India, composed in stripes, wingbeats, and quiet.

A collection of private wildlife journeys across the subcontinent's wildest forests and wetlands — each one written around you, not sold off a shelf.

THE INDIA COLLECTION

Not a checklist of parks. A story, told at your pace.

Almytter's India is composed, not packaged. We pair every traveller with a private naturalist, a boutique camp chosen for its relationship with the land, and enough unscheduled time to simply watch. From the tiger-bright forests of central India to the hush of the eastern wetlands, this is the country as its wildest residents know it.

TADOBA ANDHARI · MAHARASHTRA

The reserve that keeps its tigers close.

Central India's oldest and most tiger-dense forest, where dry teak and bamboo open onto sunstruck lakes. Territories here are small and visible, and the reserve's resident tigresses have raised generations of cubs along its trails.

Almytter's Tadoba stays are built around a private naturalist who has tracked these territories for years, timed drives around the reserve's quieter gates, and a boutique lodge on the buffer's edge.

KANHA · MADHYA PRADESH

The forest that inspired The Jungle Book.

Sal forest gives way to wide grass meadows, home to the last wild herds of hard-ground barasingha and to packs of dhole moving low through the light. This is India at its most cinematic — and its least crowded.

Journeys here are timed to the meadows' early mist and paired with naturalists who read the forest's alarm calls the way others read a map.

EASTERN WETLANDS

A quieter register of wild.

Not every Almytter morning in India ends in stripes. Along the eastern wetlands, herons nest in the hundreds, langur families forage along quiet forest roads, and the pace slows to the speed of a paddle.

A gentler counterpoint to the tiger reserves — often woven into a longer India itinerary as a still, restorative close.

Pilgrims and boats along the ghats of Varanasi at dawn on the Ganges

VARANASI · UTTAR PRADESH

The river that has never once stopped moving.

Before dawn, the ghats fill with lamplight, and the Ganges carries a city's entire private ritual out toward the water. It is the oldest continuously inhabited stretch we visit — not a wildlife journey, but the human counterpart to one.

Almytter's Varanasi is arranged around a single, unhurried boat at first light, a private walk through the old city's lanes, and a naturalist's counterpart in a local scholar who has spent a lifetime reading the ghats the way others read a forest.

WHY ALMYTTER'S INDIA

The difference is in what we leave out.

I.

Private, always

No shared vehicles, no fixed group timings. Every drive, walk and boat is arranged for you alone.

II.

Naturalists, not guides

We work with individuals who have spent years in one landscape, and introduce you to them by name before you travel.

III.

Composed, not packaged

Each itinerary is built from a conversation with you first — the parks, pace and camps follow from that, not the other way round.

GOOD TO KNOW

Questions, answered plainly

What is Almytter's India?+

Almytter's India is a curated collection of private, luxury wildlife journeys across India composed by Almytter, a bespoke travel house — built around named naturalists, boutique camps, and your own pace, rather than a fixed itinerary.

Which parks does Almytter cover?+

The current collection is composed around Tadoba Andhari, Kanha and Bandhavgarh for tiger and dhole, alongside the eastern wetlands for heron and wader watching, with further reserves added on request.

Do you arrange a private naturalist and vehicle?+

Yes — every Almytter journey in India is paired with a private naturalist and a dedicated vehicle, rather than a shared group safari.

When is the best time to travel?+

October through June for the central Indian tiger reserves, with peak sightings in the dry months of March to May. The eastern wetlands are rewarding year-round.
